So how random would it be to have your picture plastered to the side of a UTA bus and not know it? Ask my brother, Jared.

Zion's
Last weekend we ventured up to Utah to go camping with my family in Zion's National Park. Seth and I met up with the clan on Friday morning and the moment we arrived we headed off for the famous "Angel's Landing" hike. For those not familiar, it is a 2 1/2 mile jaunt up to the top of one of the high mountain peaks in the park. It was a very strenuous (especially for those of us who don't exercise regularly--ahem, mom & I) but enjoyable hike. The last 1/2 mile is spent on a narrow ridge with drop-off cliffs on each side of you and chains to hold to as you climb the rock. We felt such a sense of accomplishment at the top of the peak and the views were amazing in every direction! It was stunning!

It was so great to get out of the city and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in nature. I absolutely love this time of year!

We also went on a few smaller (and easier) hikes. We watched "Eagle Eye" on the giant screen theatre in the park (supposed to be the biggest in Utah) but were a little disappointed to find that they didn't utilize the entire screen for the movie...It was still good though.
And last but not least we attended the last showing of "Les Miserables" at the Tuacahn theatre in St. George. It was amazing, although I was reminded that I am still in a family of mostly boys and I'm not quite sure that they are the theatre type-especially dad! They made some pretty funny comments throughout the production...what can you do? (I'm thinking we need to do some sort of girls only trip sometime).

Yadda Yadda
I realized it has been a LONG time since I've posted anything. Is is just me, or did September fly by? Short recap:
We have enjoyed a lot of company the past few weeks. Seth's parents and little brother Stockton came down a few weekends ago on their way to Cali and then on their way back again. We had so much fun playing with Stockton and seeing Seth's parents.
We had a BBQ with some friends; some of which we haven't seen in months! We had a great time catching up and playing rock band.

Karen made us take a picture by the dessert I made...mmm
"The band"
My awesome derby car
Seth's deLorean (back to the future car)
My entire family (minus Aaron) came down last weekend. My parents bought a condo in our same complex and we tore it up and put in new tile, new carpet, and painted...it was a lot of work! My parents came down again this past weekend to finish things up...They want to rent it out so if anyone knows someone that needs a place let me know!

A Little Weekend Getaway
This past weekend Seth and I went to LA. We had so much fun together! First we went to a Dodger's game:

We had really good seats right behind home plate where we enjoyed dodger dogs and nachos, mmm.
The next day, we went to six flags...
We had a good time, but while we were there we came to the realization that we are in fact "Disneyland people" Here's some reasons why:
1) If you see cobwebs at Disneyland, it's on purpose and they're probably fake. Disneyland is much much cleaner and kept up. (aka not ghetto)
2) There is no line control at six flags. We often found ourselves getting annoyed when 4 people from the line are supposed to go on the ride each time and only 2 end up going; why don't they ask for another party of 2? This make for a much longer waiting time...
3) For the most part, the lines at Disneyland are air-conditioned inside, and you're entertained while you wait...nope, not at six flags!
4) I know that people don't go to six flags for the shows, they go for the roller coasters (which I found most of them to be very jerky and rickety-and I usually love roller coasters) but we went to the one show that they did have. It was a batman stunt show...let's just say that we were laughing at parts that probably weren't supposed to be funny. So, Disneyland for sure takes the show there!
mmm, frozen lemonade...
Our good friend Bugs bunny
This picture speaks for itself
We were really dirty by the end of the day
We had lots of fun taking silly pictures :)
We made ourselves right at home in bugs' house
Fun day but I don't think we'll be back anytime soon! haha
After our adventures at six flags we ventured out to Santa Monica Beach. We rented bicycles and rode them up the beach bike path to Venice Beach. This was very fun and I highly recommend it. We wish we would have had time to go further up the path. We saw a lot of interesting things and people.

It was such a nice, fun weekend and I'm so glad that I could spend it with my favorite person who still makes me laugh everyday. I love you Seth!
Now back to work and school!

5) Last, but not least, where is the love for our good looney tunes friend Speedy Gonzalez? We only found him in one place:
This was taken after the first ride (after waiting in line for almost 2 hours to ride it)

Characters!
This weekend we went to this:
at the Excalibur. It was a dinner show with jousting, fighting, and dancing. It was fun! Then we walked around the hotel and saw a caricature place and since I've ALWAYS wanted to get one done, we finally did it. This is what we ended up looking like:
We thought it would be fun to compare it to the real thing:
We don't really think it looks much like us...but what do you think?
